A look at the build: mud, sawdust, sideways rain, and eventually… a bloody good sauna.

How we turn logs to steam.

  • Sketch of small structures with labels indicating construction details, including a wood store, a trailer mobile grow, and a building with a max angled timber frame and lovely views, along with other features like slats, a stone, a ramp, and a chimney.

    Dream it.

Early sketches, a lot of brews, and too many versions of the roof. This is where the sauna starts; on paper, out on walks, in the rain, and in all the places we want it to belong.

  • Mountain landscape with snow-capped peaks in the background and a modern building on green rolling hills in the foreground.

    Build it.

Timber and sawdust everywhere. Joinery, insulation, stove benches, arguments with screws, and a surprising amount of problem-solving. This is messy, but where it comes to life.

  • A modern building with wooden exterior walls and large glass window, situated in a mountainous landscape with dry grass and a few small trees.

    Enjoy it.

The stove warms, the stones crack, and suddenly it feels like a sauna. We tune the heat, test everything, tweak a few things, and make sure it feels exactly how a Highland sauna should.
